Obituary for Nadine L. Hayes (Chapman)


Nadine L. (Chapman) Hayes of Vernon Ct. entered into eternal rest Monday May 4, 2015, on her and her husbands 41st Wedding Anniversary .She was born March 20, 1947 in Hartford Ct. to the late Harold and Betty (Mayo) Chapman. Nadine her parents and two younger sisters lived in Manchester Ct. until 1956 when they moved to Vernon. Nadine over the years worked as a phone operator in Manchester, for Roosevelt Mills in Rockville, Cumberland Farms, Gary's Mobil and Convenient Mobil in Vernon. Nadine married Herbert Hayes on May 4 1974 in Ellington. Together they traveled the world during Herbert's enlistment in the U.S. Air Force until his discharge in 1980. Then they moved back to Vernon Ct. They went on many Vacations all across the United States which she loved to take with Herbert, and her nieces, nephews and all the four legged babies over the years. Nadine is survived by her husband Herbert, her sister Delores Gagnon and her husband Glenn of Vernon, Her niece's Sherry Griffen and her husband James of Manchester, Amy Woodworth and her husband Gerald. Nadine Gray all of Vernon, Jennifer Gagnon of East Hartford and nephew Glenn Gagnon Jr. of Vernon, 12 great nieces and nephews. Her aunts Song Mayo of Killeen Texas, Dorothy Mayo of West Suffield and many cousins in Texas and in Ct.,her good friends Ida Roberts and Marilyn Lafontaine. Nadine was preceded into heaven by her parents Harold and Betty Chapman her middle sister Carol Ann and her husband Daniel Gray Jr., her great nephew Skylar Woodworth, her many aunts and Uncles, and her four legged babies.
