Obituary for Lorraine M. Bunker

Loraine M. (LaPlante) Bunker died at home (April 7, 2016) after an eight year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Van Buren, Maine to John and Edith LaPlante on Jan. 26, 1924. She moved to CT at age 17 in 1941 and worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft until the end of WWII. After the war, she moved to Vernon, where she spent the rest of her life. She enjoyed working in the yard, going to the casino, and seeing her children. She leaves her daughter Joan Aborn of Providence, RI; and three sons, Fred and Samuel of Vernon, Michael of Windsor; and granddaughter Michelle of Atlanta, GA. She was predeceased by her husband Ivan Bunker; sisters Corrine Culpin, Ida Brown, Yvonne DePerry; and brothers Emille and Leo LaPlante. Memorial services are private and at the discretion of the family. Donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Church in Vernon. For online condolences please visit: www.pietrasfuneralhome.com
