Lawrence Schanck, Jr., of Manchester, formerly of East Windsor died, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was born September 27, 1939 in New York, NY to the late Lawrence and Mildred (Brown) Schanck, Sr. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was raised by his grandmother Virginia Schanck in East Windsor and a graduate of East Windsor High School. He had a passion for antique cars, attending car shows and loved to travel. He is survived by his cousins; Virginia Moreland of East Windsor, John Schanck and his wife Della of Culpepper,VA, Richard Schanck and his wife Juanita of Windsor, Diane Schanck of East Windsor, Robin Schanck and his wife Rebecca of East Windsor, Tina Schanck, Emily Lucia and Mark Lucia,Jr, and many other cousins. He was predeceased in 2015 by his wife Judith (Trantolo) Schanck. A special thank you goes out to his cousin’s Diane, Tina and Emily who were his caretakers for the past year. Relatives and friends may join the family for a graveside service on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 11:00 am at the State of CT Veterans’ Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT.
