Obituary for Juliette E. "Julie" Bradley (Mathurin)

Juliette E. "Julie" Bradley (Mathurin)
Juliette E. Bradley, “Julie”, 82 of Coventry, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Putnam on May 15, 1934, daughter of the late Chief of Police, Henry Mathurin and Laurette (Phaneuf) Mathurin. She was predeceased by her sister Marie Lillibridge. She was raised in Putnam and was a graduate of Putnam Catholic Academy.
On October 6, 1956, she married the love of her life, Albert E. Bradley. Together they had 3 children, Laurie Pinkston and her husband James of Coventry, Kevin Bradley of Enfield, Cathy Bradley and her partner Anderson Hall of Mansfield and daughter-in-law Lori Carter of Coventry. She also leaves behind 3 grandchildren, Jason Bradley his fiancée Amanda Nichols of Enfield, Joshua Pinkston of Coventry and Chelsea Pinkston of Marietta, GA.
Her family was the most important thing in her life and they will miss her until their last breath.
In her early years, she worked at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam before moving to Coventry. She then became one of the Registrars of Voters in the town.
But she found her true calling with the establishment of Orchard Hill Estates, the Elderly Housing complex in the Town of Coventry. Together, she and Al volunteered countless hours to see all 80 units of housing come to fruition. From 1975 until April of 2016 she dedicated her life’s work to Orchard Hill Estates, helping as many people as she could. She will be sorely missed by all of her friends there and especially missed by her daughter Laurie.
Those who knew her knew her favorite things- feeding the birds in her yard, anything Christmas related (she had an entire Christmas room set up year round), walking on the beach, playing Bingo on her I-Pad, scratch lottery tickets (she was quite lucky and always shared), Old Orchard Beach in Maine, Rocky Neck Beach, U-Conn Dairy Bar ice cream, anything pink, crossword puzzles and most of all our many family parties. She had a beautiful smile and a warm and loving heart and was known for her kindness to all.
Relatives and friends may join the family on Saturday, July 16, 2016 from 12:00-3:00 pm at The Coventry-Pietras Funeral Home, 2665 Boston Tpk (Rt. 44), Coventry, CT. A Funeral Home Service will take place at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society - CT Chapter, 825 Brook St, I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill,CT 06067.
