A. Virginia Bergstrom, 89, of Bolton passed away August 20, 2016. She was born August 12, 1927 in Hartford, the daughter of the late Constantine and Anna Pergoda. She was a member of the Lions Club for many years and served as President and various offices throughout the years. She was an activist in Women's Rights and marched the capital in Hartford in support of Women's Rights. She was a Girl Scout and Brownie leader for years for her daughters as they progressed through the scouts. She is survived by her daughters, April Maguire of North Andover, MA and June Maynard and her husband Pete of Coventry; her grandchildren, Grady, Danielle and Catherine Maguire of North Andover, MA and Jennifer Morello, Mitchell and Matthew Maynard all of Coventry; and her great granddaughter, Olivia Morello of Coventry. She was predeceased by her siblings, Janet Scoville, Harry, Caz and Helene Pergoda. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 4 to 8 PM on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Coventry-Pietras Funeral Home, 2665 Boston Tpke. Coventry, CT 06238. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Maurice Church, 32 Hebron Rd. Bolton, CT 06043. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
