Obituary for Helen Moskey

Helen Moskey, of Tolland, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on Friday, January 20, 2017. She was born on July 20, 1920 in East Hartford, CT to the late Rose (Staron) and Jacob Kovalevich. She was one of many daughters of Jacob and Rose Kovalevich. She moved to Tolland in the 1920’s and lived there for almost all of her life working on her family farm and attending Hicks school until 8th grade. She was employed by the Royal Typewriter Company in Hartford for eight years in her early life. That is where she met her husband Edward and built a house in Tolland. In her later years she worked as a lunch lady in the Tolland school system. She was a long term member of the United Congregational Church of Tolland. Helen really enjoyed being a stay at home wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her son Gary Moskey and his wife Margaret Moskey, her grandsons Ryan and Brendan Moskey, her sisters Olga Kelly, Mildred Kovalevich, and Bernice Borowski; and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband Edward Moskey, her sisters Jean Karkevich and Esther Pasechnick, and her brother Harry Kovalevich. She lived for and dedicated her life to her grandchildren. She was really and truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends may join the family on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 between 12pm-2pm with a Funeral Home service at 2pm at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road, Tolland. Burial will follow at South Cemetery in Tolland. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Congregational Church of Tolland.
