Bruce E. Cropper, 82, beloved husband of Patricia (Parkhurst) Cropper passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was born March 1, 1934 in Boston, MA to the late Everett and Elizabeth (Smith) Cropper. He served in the US Air Force and retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. These experiences fueled his love of airplanes, especially military aircraft. He loved traveling to and enjoying Air Shows and Air Museums around the country. He was a dedicated member of the Tolland Fire Department, taking on many roles over the 44 years he volunteered. He was instrumental in the creation of the Tolland County Dive Team. Besides his wife Patricia to whom he was married to for 59 years, he is survived by his children; Mark Cropper and his wife Sandy of Trenton, NJ, Douglas Cropper of Brookline,NH and Lynda Doucette and her husband Curtis of Waynesville, NC; his brother, Roger Cropper and his wife DeDe of Bristol Ct; his niece Jennifer Walker, her husband Ben and their daughter Melina. Relatives and friends may join the family on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 5 – 7 pm at Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road,Tolland. A Funeral Home Service will take place on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at South Cemetery, Cider Mill Rd,Tolland.
