Donald A. "Don"  MacDonald
Donald A. MacDonald, 85, of Broad Brook, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. He was born August 11, 1931 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia to the late William and Evelyn (Davis) MacDonald. He retired from American Airlines. Don was a very hardworking husband and father always putting his family first. He enjoyed going to the movies and attended them weekly sometimes joined by his grandson. He was passionate about any and all kinds of Ice Hockey and the Boston Red Sox. Cherished his travels with family to his homeland of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia or visiting relatives in Florida. He was a past community member of the Knights of Columbus and the Broad Brook Fire Department, he also loved listening to all types of music. He is survived by his son, Darryl and wife Cheryl and their daughter Kimberly; his daughters, Colleen and her husband Michael and their children, Ashley and Michael, Lori and her husband Jeff and their sons Jeffrey and Justin and Jennifer and her husband Chris and their daughter, Lindsey; and many nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his wife Winnie in 2011. The Family would like to thank Lesa Walter and his son in law Chris for their tireless love and devotion to his daily care towards the end of his life. Relatives and friends may join the family from 11:00 – 12:00 pm on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor.
