Frederick William Peckham, 67, of Tolland, beloved husband of Carol (Balanceau) Peckham, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017. He was born August 7, 1949 in Manchester, son of the late Edward and Rita (Dietz) Peckham. Frederick enjoyed Genealogy, casinos, and was an avid NASCAR Race fan. He and Carol went every year to Daytona, Florida for the races and to visit friends. He raced at Stafford Motor Speedway from 1991-1997 and won rookie of the year in 1992. He loved working on race cars and worked on his grandsons, Ronnie’s modified. He enjoyed watching all of his grandchildren at their activities; he was always telling everyone how smart his grandchildren were and about the awards they won. Frederick worked for 37 years at Dari-Farms Ice Cream in Tolland as a truck driver and retired in 2013. The Silva family will always be great friends. Besides his loving wife of 48 years, Carol, he is survived by his daughters Carol Houle and her spouse D.J. of Clemmons, NC, Candy Williams and her spouse Ron of Ellington, and Cristy Zalcman and her spouse Mark of Manchester. He also leaves his grandchildren Freddie and Joey Houle, Ronnie, Justin and Mindy Williams, Haley, Morgan, and Chelsea Zalcman, his brothers Eddie Peckham and his wife Louise of Newport, NH, Timothy Peckham and his wife Tina of Laveen, AZ, and his sisters Rita Moore of Obetz, OH, and Peggy Stevenson and her husband Rick of Colchester, as well as many lifelong cousins and great friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tolland Fire Department, PO Box 827, Tolland, CT 06084. Relatives and friends may join the family on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 4-8 PM at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road (Rt. 195), Tolland.
