Obituary for Margaret Theresa Peterson

Margaret Theresa (Wnuk) Peterson, 85, of Vernon, loving wife of the late Arthur W. “Pete” Peterson, died Friday, June 30, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born in Rockville on September 16, 1931, daughter of the late Louis and Magdalena (Bacinsky) Wnuk. Margaret graduated from St. Bernard's School Class of 1945 and Rockville High School Class of 1949. Prior to her retirement in 1987 Margaret was employed by Pratt & Whitney for 36 years in the Human Resources Department, nine years at (CANEL) Middletown, and the remaining years in East Hartford. She always enjoyed traveling to the casino and loved to watch the UConn women play. She loved people and was always there to help anyone who needed help. She had many friends who she enjoyed spending time with or talking to on the phone.

She is survived by her sister, Agatha L. Kundermann of Rockville; her brother, Valer J. Wnuk and his wife Eileen of Glastonbury; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Wnuk of Ellington and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great- great nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Andrew Wnuk; sister, Irene Denette and brothers-in-law, Leo Denette and Tibor Kundermann.
Margaret's family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the nurses and aids that took such good care of her (support staff and medical team) at Crestfield Rehabilitation Center, Manchester and to everyone who came to visit her in her last days.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville, CT 06066. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at St. Bernard's Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville, CT 06066. Burial will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Rockville.
