Barbara N. Buttafuso, 74, of Vernon, beloved wife of the late Michael J. Buttafuso passed away, Tuesday, July 25, 2017. She was born November 1, 1942 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Shirley (Beardslee) Nase. She was a teacher for 37 years in the Tolland school system. After her retirement she enjoyed helping rescue dogs from American Lab Rescue. She is survived by her two sons, Michael Buttafuso of Raleigh, NC and Richard Buttafuso and his wife Cherelyn of Torrington; her brother, Sherwood Nase and his wife Lesley of Jeffersonville, VT; her grandchildren, Phoebe, Hannah and Ethan Buttafuso and Richard Jr., Tristen and Daniel Buttafuso; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Susan Gorr. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville, CT 06066.
