Jeanne Mae (Egnat) Sojka, age 90, of Ellington, passed away with her husband of 64 years Raymond Sojka by her side. She was born in Hartford, CT on December 22, 1926 to John Ignatowicz and Regina (Wolna) Egnat. She worked at the Hartford Steam Boiler, where she met Raymond. After she married, she was a stay at home mom and resided in Ellington. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her home and was always gardening, sewing, and cooking. She leaves behind her husband Ray, her children Marcy Sojka-Steppen and her husband Russ, Gregory Sojka and his wife Sherri, and two grandchildren, Ashley Sojka and Nathan Steppen. She was predeceased by a son David Christopher. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Fox Hill for their loving, wonderful care these past 3 years. Relatives and friends may join the family on Friday, August 4, 2017 between 4pm-7pm at the Small & Pietras Funeral Home, 65 Elm St., Rockville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Church, Rockville. Burial will follow at Ellington Center Cemetery, Ellington.
