She passed away within the comfort of her home, surrounded by family on September 16, 2017, after a courageous 11 year battle with cancer. Sharon was born July 5th, 1955 to John and Lorraine Fortuna by whom she was predeceased. She was a 1973 graduate of Rockville High School. She married Gary McCullough on October 15, 1983 in Rockville, CT. Sharon's life has always been about giving and caring for others. Her primary role was a mother and homemaker, however Sharon also held several jobs working at Hillside Manor as a physical therapy aide, the Journal Inquirer and the VCMS school system. Sharon loved spending time with her children and her grandchildren, enjoying many trips to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Old Orchard Beach, Maine, the local casinos, several cruises with her family and a once in a lifetime trip to New Zealand with her husband Gary and son Connor. She will be missed more than words can express.
