Elizabeth "Betty" Kassett of Tolland, CT, beloved wife of the late Bernard W. Kassett, passed away peacefully on September 26th surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 4th, 1924 in Norfolk, CT, she was the daughter of the late Malachi and Mary Kenefick Whalen. Betty was predeceased by her three brothers, William, Joseph, and Malachi Whalen and leaves many good friends behind, especially Sid and Peggy Toombs. She lived in Tolland for over 48 years and was retired from the Aetna Insurance Company. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Friendly Visitor for many years. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Matthew’s Church. A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she is survived by her three daughters, Joy Kassett and her husband David Fischer, Suzanne Kassett, Janet and her husband Michael O’Keefe; her nine grandchildren, Mike Goepfert and fiancé Brittany Johnston, Steve and his wife Ashley (LeBlond) Goepfert, Daniel Goepfert, Brian Goepfert, Joe Goepfert, Kaedy Fischer, Liam Fischer, Tomas Fischer, Ana Fischer, and her great granddaughter, Quinn Avery Goepfert. Her family, friends, and faith were the center of her universe. Betty has left behind a legacy of love, compassion, and kindness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 30th at St. Matthew’s Church in Tolland, CT. Burial will follow at South Cemetery in Tolland followed by a celebration of her life.
