Melvin E. Arnold “Mel,” 83, of Suffield, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Fredericktown, Missouri. Mel served his country honorably in the U.S. Army as an engineer and later worked as a diesel mechanic for several trucking firms and later for Krupa Oil Co. His passions were farming, NASCAR, dogs, and tinkering with engines, especially Fords.

He was pre-deceased by his parents; brothers; and a son, Paul Arnold. Mel had many dear friends and neighbors and he will be greatly missed by all.
The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor.
