Derek W. Somers, 29, of Ellington, CT, died on Friday, November 24, 2017. Derek was many things – a devoted father to Daniel, a 2nd degree black belt martial artist, a poet, and above all, a loving, caring, generous and loyal father, son, brother and friend. He is survived by his son and the light of his life, Daniel Somers; his mother, Lois Limberger (Thomas Crawford); his father David Somers (Debra); his sister, Hilary Somers; and his brother, Luke Somers (Jodie Boehm). He also leaves behind his grandfather, Walter Limberger (Charlotte); and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends – especially his best friend, Josh Nixon. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect Street, Rockville, CT.
