Obituary for James J. Albert

James J. Albert passed away peacefully, on January 9, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He fought a valiant battle against cancer with great strength and dignity. He was born and raised in Bristol, Connecticut, and was age sixty-six at his passing. Jim is predeceased by his father, Roger J. Albert. He is survived by his dear wife Sharon of thirty-eight years, his mother, Therese Albert, and siblings, Patricia, Steven, Brian, Mark, John, and Paul Albert. He leaves several nieces and nephews, including Michael, Christen, Patrick, Kevin, Jason, Bailey, Jessica and Colleen, his wife’s daughter, Celeste; and many friends, both personal and professional. Jim, always a light and a blessing to his friends and family, will be missed beyond measure. In 2016, Jim retired from his career as a Computer Systems Engineer with the Travelers Insurance Company. He was a talented problem-solver, dedicated to the quality of his work, and recognized for his valued contributions to the company. Previously, he was co-owner of Plainville Auto Body with his brother, Mark. Jim worked for several years as manager at Hi Fi Stereo House, and was instrumental in building the business. He attended Stevens Institute of Technology and Manchester Community College. Jim was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Mary’s Church. He enjoyed gatherings with family and friends, fishing and golfing with his brothers, and was a car and music enthusiast. He loved traveling with his beloved wife, Sharon. Jim was a kind man of clear judgment, integrity, and deep inner strength. If there were ten men like Jim in every city, the world would be a noticeably better place.
