Dianne E.  Fitzgerald
Dianne E. Fitzgerald, of Coventry; beloved wife of William A. Wyant, left this earth peacefully at home on February 10, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Born July 1, 1938 to Alice Gallant Fitzgerald and James Fitzgerald in Lawrence, Mass. Dianne was an accomplished artist who loved to paint, sculpt and create art in a myriad of ways. She was a 1984 graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University, an achievement which gave her great pride. Dianne worked for many years for the State of Connecticut Department of Social Services, and was at the forefront of Intra State Child Support Enforcement. After her retirement, she and Bill were able to travel to some of her favorite parts of the world, including Ireland, Italy, and Australia... places she once felt unreachable.
Dianne lived her life to the fullest, and encouraged so many in her life to become the best they could be... Her spirit and zeal were admired and loved by many and shall be deeply missed.
She loved her lake view home in Hope Valley, Rhode Island and enjoyed countless wonderful times there with Bill; a home they built together with love. Dianne was an amazingly talented and prolific artist, her three daughters all art educators, she was always involved in a myriad of artistic endeavors her entire life,a star in the art departments attending Manchester Community College and ECSU after her retirement earning the respect of all the professors and students alike. She had many art exhibits throughout New England and worked in her studio at home. Dianne was a true renaissance woman, engineer and home designer, most notably turning an old cow barn on her property into a House and Garden home with Bill.
Besides her Husband William, she leaves her Daughters Alison Heather Blair of Coventry, Jennifer Robin Blair of Manchester; a son, Christopher Brian Mainard of Coventry;she was predeceased by her precious daughter Jamie Blair-Gerardi and her grandson William MacKenzie Gerardi. Dianne also leaves her Grandchildren; Joel Bayer and his wife Nina of Coventry; Ashley Bayer of Narragansett, RI; Jenna Bayer of Manchester, CT; Lynnaya Mainard of Ormond Beach, Fl; Jesse Blair of Manchester, CT; Zoe Blair-Schlagenhauf of New Orleans, La; Sierra Mainard of Manchester, CT; Christian Gerardi, of Los Angeles, California. Her four great grandsons and one expected in March were a source of pure joy to her. Dianne is also survived by her sisters Carol Ganci of Bakerville, CT, Sandra Tiffany and her husband Emerson of Bakerville, CT, Geraldine Sietz and her Husband Tom of Hudson, Fl, Maureen Fitzgerald of Torrington, CT. She was predeceased by her sisters Patsy Burns and Kathleen Gagne, She had countless beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and precious friends. Relatives and friends may join the family on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 5-7 pm at Coventry-Pietras Funeral Home, 2665 Boston tpk, Coventry, CT. A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at First Congregational Church of Coventry, 1171 Main st,Coventry, CT.
