Obituary for Americo J. "Jock" Bonomo

Americo J. Bonomo “Jock,” 91, of South Windsor, CT passed away on February 12th at Hartford Hospital.

Jock was born in Anagni, Italy, the son of the late Giacomo and Amalia (Tagliaboshi) Bonomo.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and graduated from Bryant College. He had a long career with both General Electric and Pratt & Whitney before retiring to Florida.

He is survived by his wife Philomena (Vescera) Bonomo of North Providence, RI and her children Lisa Rao and husband Russ Andersen of Hamden, CT and Robert Rao and his wife Leigh Annette of Cumberland, RI.

He will be dearly missed by his son, Richard Bonomo of Port St. Lucie, FL; his daughter, Elaine Dwyer and her husband George of Vernon, CT; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Christine Bonomo of Methuen, MA; and his nephew, Michael Bonomo and his wife Jennifer of Boxford, MA.

Bubba always had a special place in the hearts of his grandchildren, Kristin Dowgiewicz of Tolland, CT and Brian Eidson of Vernon, CT; and his great grandchildren, Josh, Emma and Charlotte.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 5, 2018 at St. Bernard’s Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville, CT 06066. Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
