Obituary for Charles M. Konarski

Charles M. Konarski, Jr., 77, died very unexpectedly Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at home. He was a loving, patient, husband (53 yrs. this July 31) to Dorothy (Daley) Konarski. He also leaves to mourn his death, his two sons, Charles M. Konarski, III of Terre Haute, IN. (ex-wife Holly, sons David and Tyler) and Christopher Konarski of Vernon, CT. (wife Tina, son Tristan). He leaves his mother-in-law, Gladys Daley (95), cousins, an uncle, his beloved sister, Dolores Tschinkel and was predeceased by his brother, Edward, brother-in-law, William Tschinkel and by his father-in-law, B. Edward Daley, who told him he always considered him another son.
Charlie (Chas.) was a member of the Town of Vernon Fire Department for 45 years, as a Captain of the Rescue, then Fire Police (later a Lieutenant) and was one of the fire department official photographers. The state police officer that came to the house today was one Charlie helped at an accident yesterday morning during the storm.
Charlie worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 35 years and then for Lori Spielman Landscaping for close to 15 years, a job he absolutely loved. Much of the landscaping in their yard was done from knowledge he gained at Lori’s.
He loved his family and friends, outdoors, the fire department, bowling, tag sales, helping others and being McGuyver around the house. He knew how to fix almost anything and solve almost any problem. Charlie was dearly loved and will be extremely missed. Rest in peace my dear Charlie.
