Barry Peter Hansen, Sr., 65, of Andover passed away unexpectedly May 15, 2018. He was born May 14, 1953 in Hartford to the late Burton and Ruth (White) Hansen. Barry spent his entire life as a Connecticut resident and lived for everything New England has to offer. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved spending time outdoors, especially surrounded by his family. He was always the first to lend a helping hand and always ready to deliver a corny joke right on cue. He was a lifelong Skilled Carpenter and retired member of Carpenters Local 24, now Local 326. He was a former member of the Andover Volunteer Fire Department. Barry is survived by his wife Lorrie; his three children, Barry Hansen Jr. and his fiancée Isabelle, Greg Hansen, and Holly Ruth Hansen; his brother Burt Hansen and his wife Juliet; his sister Patricia Hansen-Burnham and her husband William; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may join the family on Monday, May 21, 2018 from 4:30 – 6:30 pm, at Coventry-Pietras Funeral Home, 2665 Boston Tpk, Coventry, CT 06238. A mass will take place on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 11:00 am, St. Mary Church, Main St, Coventry (Please meet at church).
