Michael J. Cannizzaro, 51, of Tolland, beloved husband of Tricia (Handy) Cannizzaro, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. He was born November 10, 1966 in Albany, NY, son of Rosemary (Flaherty) Pittman and the late Richard Cannizzaro.
He graduated West Point in 1989 and served in the US Army during the Persian Gulf War. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs, Celtics and Red Sox fan. What Michael enjoyed doing most in his spare time was coaching youth football and basketball in Tolland. Besides his loving wife Tricia, he is survived by his children Olivia, Aidan, and Gavin, his mother Rosemary Pittman, his sister Rose Ellen Stephenson, his brother Peter Cannizzaro, his niece Sofia and nephews Vincent and Tony; as well as extended family and friends. Relatives and friends may join the family on Monday, July 9, 2018 from 8 am- 11 am at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road (Rt. 195), Tolland. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 Noon at St. Matthew Church, 111 Tolland Green, Tolland. Burial will be private.
