George H. Ulitsch, 79, of Broad Brook, passed away March 12, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with lymphoma. Born in Windsor Locks on June 17, 1935, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Pempe) Ulitsch. He was predeceased by his brothers Frank, Herman, and Ed. George was a longtime resident of Broad Brook. He was employed by the State of CT and during that time he also owned and operated North Main Package Store in Enfield. George then went into business for himself retiring in 1998. He then went to work for the East Windsor Board of Education, transporting children with special needs to and from school. George was an active member of St. Catherine's Parish; he served on the East Windsor Park and Recreation Committee; he coached East Windsor Girls' softball; he was an elected constable for the town of East Windsor; he wrote a restaurant review column for the Airport News and he was a volunteer at the Suffield House. Always upbeat and positive, George was the life of every party. He will be missed by all who knew him, but especially by his daughters and sons-in-law, Judi and Dave Tumosa of Willington, CT, Maureen and Joe Tinetti of Milton, GA, Beth and Bobby West of Broad Brook, CT and Christine Ulitsch of Broad Brook, CT; his former wife Pauline (Morin) Ulitsch of Pompano Beach, FL; his grandchildren, Ashley, Ryan, Victoria, Robert, Michael, Mark, Brett, and Gina and his great grandchildren Brennen, Ava, and Evan. George also leaves behind his brother David (Laura) Ulitsch of NH, his sisters Mary (Bob) Price of Windsor Locks, CT, and Virginia Nelson of FL and his brother-in-law Donald (Marsha) Morin of FL and many nieces and nephews, cousins and wonderful friends. George enjoyed watching the Red Sox and the UCONN Women Huskies and he especially enjoyed his trips to the casino. He truly loved life and lived it to the fullest. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 10 am at St. Catherine Church, 6 Windsorville Road, Broad Brook with burial to follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, East Windsor.
