Obituary for Robert C. Dumeer

Robert C. Dumeer “Bob”, 90, of Mystic, CT peacefully passed away with his family by his side on March 27, 2018. For the last five years Bob resided at the Pendleton Health and Rehab Center. He was born in Hartford, CT on December 5, 1927, son of the late Lucille (Barcomb) Dumeer and Charles Dumeer. Bob had a love for fast cars, designing many of his own, he was a car mechanic/painter most of his life. Bob was a World War II Veteran serving in Germany between 1946-1949. He was a tinkerer always building something. Bob spent his winters in Florida on Pine Island and summers in the home his father built in Mystic. Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife Madeleine (Aubin) Dumeer. He is survived by his sons, Wayne Dumeer of Mystic, CT; Chuck Dumeer and his wife Marlene of Enfield, CT; John Dumeer and his wife Colleen of Enfield, CT; his two daughters, Judy (Dumeer) Coffin and Gary Sabotka of Windsor, CT; Bonnie Leblanc and her husband Danny of Broad Brook, CT; son-in-law, Jim Burns of Windsor, CT; seventeen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren, their families and loving extended family; Bob was also predeceased by his daughter, SueAnn (Dumeer) Burns; son, Steve Dumeer; and his dear sister Florence Salmon. Bob’s family would like to especially thank all of his caregivers at Pendleton which he affectionately called his “girlfriends”. Burial will be private at the request of the family. No calling hours.
