Obituary for Priscilla M. Cyr

Priscilla M. Cyr, 88, of South Windsor, beloved wife of Lawrence J. Cyr, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018. She was born May 14, 1930 in Caribou, ME.
One of 4 children born to the late Romeo and Rose (Cote) Dumais, she was raised in Caribou ME. Priscilla was a Registered Nurse, graduating from the St Mary's School of Nursing in Lewiston, ME. She spent several years working for private practices and nursing homes and subsequently retired after 18 dedicated years at Mansfield Training School where she retired in 1985.
Priscilla and Lawrence made their home in Ellington CT where they lovingly raised their family. They retired to Sebastian FL, where they spent 24 wonderful years enjoying the Florida weather away from the cold northern weather. While in Florida, Priscilla was an active member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, where she served as president for several years.
She was an unwavering example of courage, faith and love. Along with spending time with her family, her favorite pastimes were crocheting and knitting, playing bingo and watching The Young & the Restless, General Hospital, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Dancing with the Stars and UCONN women's basketball games.

Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn (Scott) Matlock of Denver NC, daughter Dr. Laurie Cyr-Martel, of Auburn Maine, daughter Kathy Cyr, of Tolland CT and son Alan (Kathie) Cyr of Vernon CT. She will also be fondly remembered and missed by her grandchildren Elizabeth (Will) Arlint of Auburn, ME, Emily, Jessica and Daniel Cyr of Vernon, CT, and great grandson Collin Arlint of Auburn ME. She is also survived by her siblings Sister Nora Dumais, Valmore Dumais, and Dianne Dumais. Priscilla also leaves behind dear friends, Nancy Marchand and Linda Pugh.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial in her memory and to celebrate Priscilla at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, June 25, 2018 at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville, CT. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery, Vernon, CT.
