Joan S. Stanton, 85, of Colchester, CT, previously of Vernon, CT and Tolland, CT, wife of the late Robert L. Stanton, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018. She was born in Schenectady, NY to the late Robert and Euphemia Stewart of Scotia, NY. She had lived in CT for more than sixty years. She was a member of the United Congregational Church of Tolland. She worked over the years as a Administrative Assistant at the GE Company in Schenectady, NY., UCONN in Storrs, CT, Albi Manufacturing Company in Rockville, CT, UCC in Tolland, CT and retired from Aetna Life & Casualty in Hartford, CT. While raising her children she worked as a Welcome Wagon Hostess in Tolland, CT. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Sharon Stanton and her daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Richard St. Germain. She is also survived by four granddaughters, her sister, Fay Emery of Windsor, ME; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may join the family on Friday, October 5, 2018 between 10am-12pm with a Funeral Home Service at 12pm at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road, Tolland, CT.
