Marilyn (Port) Brassard, 83, loving wife, mother and grandmother, died peaceful surrounded by family on Monday, November 26, 2018 after a long illness of Alzheimer's Disease. She was the beloved wife of Paul E. Brassard. Marilyn was born on December 12, 1934 in Norwalk, CT. She was the daughter of the late George and Margaret Port. She graduated from Norwalk High School. Marilyn was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Danbury. She was previously employed by Republic Foil in Danbury. Marilyn's greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her husband and family. She is survived by her husband, Paul Brassard of Danbury; her son, David Brassard and his wife Kim Brassard of East Granby, CT; Her daughter, Karen Catania and her husband Vincent Catania of Wolcott, CT; Her five precious grandchildren, Brittany Catania, Christopher Catania, Daniel Catania, Kyle Brassard and Laura Brassard, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Geraldine Kish. The family would like to thank the staff from Vitas Homecare and the Vitas Unit at Saint Mary's Hospital. Thank you Salome Castan, MC Homecare, especially Sandra Soto and the rest of the staff. A Funeral Mass will be held in her honor on, Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 8 Robinson Ave., Danbury, CT. Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery, Lake Ave., Danbury. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be made in Marilyn's name to the Alzheimer's Association, alz.org.
