George E. Worthington, Sr., 83, formerly of Somers, CT, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. He was the son of the late Everett and Mildred (Boyer) Worthington and step-mother Doris Worthington. He grew up in Somers and attended local schools there. He spent many hard working years on the family farm, and later worked as a butcher for Home Pride Provisions for thirty five years. George was a loving father and grandfather and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In years past, he was an avid hunter and fisherman, however, throughout hi life, his biggest enjoyment was auto racing. George was recently predeceased in April, 2018 by his loving wife of sixty years, Beverly Worthington. He is survived by his children Georgia Lareau and her husband Gilbert of Florida, Gloria Worthington and her fiancé Charles Boice of Broad Brook, and George Worthington, Jr. of Broad Brook, his grandchildren Christopher Lareau and his wife Chelsey, Brittany Lareau, Abigail, Justin and Joshua Worthington, Sharra and Cody Lefelar; and two great grandchildren, Aiden and Evan Lareau.
