Jacqueline “Jackie” (Cain) Shouldice, age 55 of Newington, CT passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 21, 2019. Jackie was born on February 1, 1963 in Springfield, MA and was raised in Suffield, CT by her parents, Marilou (Blodgett) and James William Cain, Jr. As a child, she enjoyed school, drawing, painting, and the outdoors, especially snowmobiling and other activities with her grandparents, Eileen (Fleming) and Ray Blodgett. She graduated from Suffield High School in 1981, then attended Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, PA, graduating in 1985 with a degree in Business Education. She met Christopher Shouldice in college and they married 1987. They settled in East Windsor, CT, where Jackie was a stay-at-home mom to their four children. Jackie was a volunteer for many organizations, a leader for both Girl Scouts & Boy Scouts, and was very involved with her children’s schools. Jackie most enjoyed spending time as a family, especially summers in Vermont, and vacations to Disney. She loved art, reading, travel, her dogs, and socializing with friends & family. Jackie is survived by her mother, Marilou Modeen of East Windsor; her husband, Christopher of East Windsor; her daughter, Shannon Belanger and her husband, Chad of Newington; a son, Patrick Shouldice of Norwalk; daughters Kelly and Bridget Shouldice of Newington; and an extensive family. May the God of all comfort be with you. Please read 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 which says “ Praised
be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of
all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any
sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God.”
