Marion Elizabeth (Sutherland) Updyke, 66, of Vernon, beloved wife of Lawrence Updyke passed away Monday, March 18, 2019. She was born March 19, 1952 in Houlton, ME, the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (MacDonald) Sutherland. She loved bird watching, reading and spending time with her family. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her children, Steven Chase and his wife Amy of Vernon, Tina Sanzone and her husband James of Wolcott, Nicole Updyke and her husband Raymond Perron of Vernon, and Melissa Falero and her husband Johnny of East Hartford; her siblings, Joan Redding of Georgia, Beverly Bull and her husband Ralph of Tolland, Kenneth Sutherland and his wife Diane, Cathy Ward and her husband Lee, Brenda Bosse and her husband Joseph all of Stafford, William Sutherland and his wife Dawn of Andover, Roger Sutherland of Enfield, and Bonnie Colburn and her husband Randy of Ellington; her grandchildren, Victoria, Mary, Emily and Lisa Sanzone, Clarissa Maloon, Alexander Ramos, Judith, Dakota and Leila Chase, Athena Ayala, Raymond Perron, Eleahana Rodriguez, and Charlotte Perron; her sister in law Diane Sutherland, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Donna and her husband Al Flora, and her brother, Robert Sutherland. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Manchester Church of Christ, 595 Tolland Turnpike, Manchester, CT 06042. Funeral service and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
