Irene was always such a wonderful person. I worked at Maple Street as a custodian with Joe K. Irene was the crossing guard. I would spend my lunch times chatting with Irene on the corner of Maple and Union Streets. A lot of good laughs were had on that corner. We would go over to the Salvation Army Store and shop for goodies. I would find a lot of nice antiques over there and Irene always made it sweeter by insisting on me using her senior discount. So many good times with Irene and Joe. I am glad they will be together once again.

I will very much miss Irene’s infectious laugh. It was a great joy while managing the Dunkin’ Donuts store in Rockville many years ago to see her and her group of friends every evening as they each enjoyed a small senior coffee, a donut and conversation. She never failed to make me laugh with her quick wit and no holes bared personality. It was a nightly ritual I came to truly look forward to. It would become even more awesome to finally learn that the girl I knew as Carol and worked with for many years was actually her daughter. What a small world.

Carol and family- I’m so incredibly sorry for the loss of your mom. She made the world a better place by being in it. May the memories you have last your life-time and may they sustain you now, while you grieve.

Very fondly,
Sue Ferrari
