Obituary for Eugene W. Madore
Eugene W. Madore, 91, of Coventry, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2019 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Marcella (Bouchard) Madore of 68 years.
Eugene was born in Van Buren, ME on May 6, 1928, the son of Edward and Cecile (Lurette) Madore. He was a World War II-era Veteran, having served in the United States Army. He married his loving wife, Marcella, on December 28, 1950 and the two settled in Coventry, CT where they raised their two sons, Daniel and Thomas. Eugene worked at Pratt & Whitney for 37 years, retiring in 1989. Eugene enjoyed gardening, camping, and spending time with his family in his retirement. He will be most missed for his kindness, patience and compassion. Besides his loving wife Marcella, Eugene leaves behind to cherish his memory, his two sons, Daniel and wife Edie of Florida, and Thomas Madore and his wife Doreen of Ashford. He also leaves behind his three granddaughters, Melissa Smith of Texas; Rebecca Foreman and husband Carroll of Coventry; and Betty Schad and husband Joe of Florida; as well as six great-grandchildren (Christian, Zachary, Gabriel, Kendall, Daniel and Samantha) and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Cecile Madore, brothers John and Norman Madore and sisters Geraldine Murphy and Lorraine Desjardin. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Monday, June 24, 2019 from 5-8 pm at Coventry-Pietras Funeral Home, 2665 Boston Tpke, (Rt 44) Coventry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Church at 1600 Main Street, Coventry, CT. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Coventry.
