Obituary for Peter Vaughn

Peter Hancock Vaughn, 82, passed away on August 5, 2019 from complications from Parkinson’s disease. Peter was born on January 30, 1937 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Mary and Milton Vaughn. He graduated from Merced High School in California in 1955. He received his B.S degree in 1965 from the University of Hartford and his MBA in 1972 from UCONN. He worked 12 years at the research lab of UTC. He retired after 25 years from the Travelers Insurance Company. He was ordained as a Vocational Deacon in the Episcopal Church in 1990. He was a member of the Army National Guard between 1959-1965. He was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He served as president and secretary of the Cornerstone foundation. He was married to Sally (Locke) Vaughn for 61 years. He also leaves his children, Kenneth and his wife Teri of Chicago, Karen (Vaughn) Warren and her husband Ty of Middletown, CT and his grandson Robinson also of Middletown, and his son Keith of Ellington, CT. He also leaves his sisters Joan and her husband Virgil and Sanne McCarthy, both of Colorado; and 4 nephews and a niece. Relatives and friends may join the family on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 11am at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 523 Hartford Turnpike in Vernon, CT. in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cornerstone Foundation, 16 Prospect Street, Vernon, CT.
