Nathan P. “Nate” Sterling, 20, of Ellington, formerly of Tolland, was tragically taken from his loving family and friends on Wednesday September 11, 2019 as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born on October 1, 1998 in Hartford, CT and was just a few weeks shy of celebrating his 21st birthday. He just began his junior year at UConn after receiving his Associates degree from MCC. He was excited to begin this new chapter in his life and was looking forward to living life on campus. Nate was an avid sports fan and participated in many different sports through-out his life, but baseball was his favorite. He loved meeting up with his friends just to throw the ball around. He was employed by the Vitamin Shoppe in Manchester and really enjoyed his job, which was a perfect fit for him, as he loved going to the gym and keeping fit. He enjoyed participating in the annual Relay for Life with his family and playing “Hoops for Hope” with his cousins. He loved his family and his friends and touched so many of us in so many different ways.

Nate will be terribly missed by everyone and our hearts are broken. He will be remembered for his kind smile, his willingness to always help others, and for all the love and joy he brought into our lives.

He leaves behind his Mother, Debra Sterling of Ellington, CT; Father, Matthew Sterling of Stafford, CT; Brother, Ryan Sterling and his girlfriend Megan Thomas of Hartford, CT; Aunt, Cheryl Davis and cousins Christopher and Jacob Theriault of Plainville, CT; Cousins, Chantel Gineo and her husband Jon and their children of West Hartford, CT; Kara Frohloff and her husband Tyler and their children of Thomaston, CT; Aunt, Jennifer Ripley and her husband Robert, and their children of Phoenix, AZ; Uncle, Brian Davis of Glendale, AZ; Aunt, Marie Langenfeld and her husband Joe, and cousins Morgan and Vincent of East Hampton, CT; Great Aunt, Jeannette O’Connor of Unionville, CT; Grandfather, Robert Davis of Tolland, CT; and many more beloved extended family members.

As his final gift to those in need, Nathan was an organ donor and has made his contribution to help others with this wonderful gift.
