Laura Jeanne Westwood, 89, of Tolland, CT passed away peacefully on July 15, 2020. She was born on December 18, 1930 in Hartford, CT to the late George and Laura (Doran) Westwood. She loved to dance and enjoyed tap dancing with her brother George in her younger years. Later in life she enjoyed line dancing. She loved animals and country music. She was a longtime member of the Red Hat Society. She started her career as a secretary for insurance companies and later retired from Cigna after many years. She is survived by her sister Linda W. DeYoung and her husband Robert Paul, her nieces and nephews, Dawne, Heather, Catherine, Deborah and Rob; and many great nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother George D. Westwood and her niece Leslie Westwood. Her family would like to thank Woodlake at Tolland for the compassionate care that they provided to Laura. Relatives and friends may join the family on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 between 10am-11am at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 prospect Street, Rockville, CT. A Graveside Service will follow at 11:30am at Fairview Cemetery in West Hartford, CT. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing guidelines.
