Obituary for Marjorie M. Fournier

Surrounded by her beloved family, Marjorie “Marge” M. Baruffi Fournier, 80, of Coventry joined her heavenly father on Sunday, December 13, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer. For 58 years, she was the beloved wife to Clifford Fournier. Marge was born on November 21, 1940 in New Britain to the late Fred and Lottie (Januskiewicz) Baruffi, Sr. After graduating from New Britain High School in 1959, Marge married her “blind date” and soul mate, Clifford on March 3, 1962. In 1962 they settled in New Britain where they made a loving home for their four daughters, including a set of twins. She was employed with the Department of Motor Vehicles for 23 years as a Title Clerk. During her retirement, she and Cliff purchased a home in Sarasota, Florida and became ‘snowbirds,” for over 16 years. Marge was an avid church-goer and loved to sit with her prayer books and iPad, reading and listening to her heart’s content. She was also an avid Yankees fan and could be found rooting them on in front of the tv. It did not matter if it was summer or winter; Marge loved the lake that she and Cliff lived on. Marge had a huge heart; she loved her family, her friends, gardening, birds, and helping anyone she could. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished each moment spent with them. She will be missed more than words can say. Along with her loving husband, Clifford Fournier of Coventry, she leaves her four adoring children, Maret Desbonnet and her husband Richard, of Sarasota FL, Michele Cocola and her fiancé Gene St. Louis, of Cape Coral, FL, Marcia Campochiaro of West Palm Beach, FL, and Martha Besade (wife of late John) of Vernon, CT; her three grandchildren, Randie Kosakowski (Senior Chief in the US Navy) and his wife Christina of Oak Harbor, Washington, Carly Cocola of Ft Myers, FL, Britni Campochiaro of Stuart, FL; her great-grandchildren, Jacoby, Jacek, and Piper. She also leaves behind her sister, Louise Garewski of Plainville, brother-in-law David Dudek Sr., sister-in-law Gloria Baruffi, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Rollo & Eloise Plumley, sister-in-law Elizabeth Letendre, and brother-in-law Francis Fournier. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Wendy Dudek and brother, Fred Baruffi Jr. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends; one which is Ann Smoloski, who had set up the “blind date” between Marge and Cliff. A special thank you goes out to the many friends and families for their lasting prayers and concerns; the medical care of Dr. Harding, Dr. Czyrko, and Dr. Hong (one of the most caring doctors Marge and her family have ever met), the staff of Hartford Hospital Hospice HomeCare; Lori, Holly, Sinead, and her Personal Home Care Assistant, Lynn, who Marge became very close to and bonded like friends. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, (December 20, 2020) from 2pm-4pm at Pietras Funeral Home, 2665 Boston Turnpike, Coventry.
