Obituary for Melanie Ann Craft
Melanie Ann (Albee) Craft of Ellington, CT entered into her eternal rest on December 15, 2020, from what appears to be natural causes due to her health conditions. Annie is survived by her daughter, Airiana Craft and her son, Devyn Craft. She is also survived by her parents April and Walter Albee, her siblings, Brett Albee, Crystal Albee, Sabrina Wierzchowski, Emily Albee-Bourque, Amber Albee, Alizabeth Albee, Alisha Vogel, Walter Albee, Francis Albee, as well as 4 nieces and 4 nephews.
Annie is predeceased by her biological father Dale Brimigion, her sister Angela Albee, Uncles James Poirier and Arthur Poirier, Grandmothers Josie O’Connell Laudano, and Christina Albee, and Grandfathers Francis Poirier and Maynard Albee.
Anyone that was close to Annie knew that to her, family was the most important thing. If you were considered family to her, you really must have been something special... even if you didn’t believe you were!
Annie grew up living next door to her uncles, whom she loved to call her brothers! She was an avid horseback rider/show woman. She also loved to line dance and sing, starting in her teenage years, but continuing throughout her life. Traveling with her family to wherever her heart desired was something that truly gave her great joy, leading her to live in many different states including Kentucky, Florida, and Texas. She moved her family back to Connecticut and decided to pursue a career in healthcare as a Nurse. She took the first step and graduated with her Certified Nursing Assistant certificate despite being diagnosed with cancer two weeks prior to graduation. After her diagnosis, you would often find her singing entrancing melodies at the local pizza parlor for karaoke night with many of her friends. She was occasionally accompanied by her daughter, whom she loved to sing with more than anyone. Annie had a special spot in her heart for the elderly and loved connecting with their life stories. Even when her health was declining she was always willing to give a helping hand. Especially when it came to helping her mother, or really any of her siblings. She loved to be there to help anyone who was in need. Being a devoted animal lover Annie had many adventurous pets including horses, sugar gliders, pigs, exotic birds, snakes, and was willing to take in any other animal that showed up on her doorstep. She worked at many farms and could handle even the most stubborn of animals. She loved each and every creature as if they were her own child.
Annie always had your back and was willing to take on anyone, no matter who they were in defense of those she loved. It did not matter the fight or the probable outcome, she would be there for you no questions asked. Annie found love again with her longtime boyfriend Doug Waitkevicz. They have spent the past few years living together with their dog Maximus, as well as feeding and bonding with the wild squirrels that visited them daily. They loved being in the garden and seeing the wildlife around them. In the end Annie enjoyed spending her days cooking meals and being adventurous in the kitchen.
Due to the ongoing pandemic the family has decided to withhold any services at this time, but is hoping to have a celebration of life and services once it is safe for all to join. Currently, we are asking for those who have any fond memories or photos to please share to her facebook Annie Survivor for her memories to last a lifetime.
