Obituary for Remo S. Bonali

Remo S. Bonali, 93 years old passed away quietly, as was typical of him, Jan. 28, 2021 with his devoted partner, Barbara, by his side, whom he met at a wedding 56 years ago. Remo (Ray) was born in Springfield, MA on April 14, 1927, son of Enrico and Catherine Bonali. He was predeceased by his sister, Elisa Guzavitch. Remo was honorably discharged from the United States Navy.

Also predeceased by friends Ray Grandon, Frank & Marge Colletti, Barney & Jane King, Frank & Sallie Scudellari, and Shirley Tashjian. Remo leaves family members Dennis and Barbara Luetjen, Russell & Rochelle Hayward, Michelle Hayward and her husband Angelo D’fillippo, Teresa & Shawn Keeler. Remo also leaves Barbara’s daughter, Debra & husband John, special friends Wayne & Pat Shary, Arman Tashjian, Kathy, Lizbeth, Lynn and Ed Scudellari.

We want to thank nurse Kristie, Companions and Homemakers care takers Dorothy, Atricia, Joycelan, Phillapa, Linda and Sade for the wonderful care given to Remo during his last days.

Family and friends may gather in celebration of Remo’s life on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021 from 2pm-4pm at the Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner Street, East Windsor, CT. Guests are asked to attend in accordance with CDC guidelines, wear a face covering and practice social distancing. Burial will take place in the spring with Military Honors.
