Obituary for Marian I. Willis (Stone)
Marian Willis, 66, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly due to complications with her cancer treatment on March 17th, 2021.
Last year Marian was diagnosed with Stage 1 Breast Cancer. Marian never showed weakness during her chemotherapy and was a fighter every single day. Her passing was a shock to all those around her as she had been showing great progress and strength with her treatment. She kept a positive attitude until the very end and shared love and laughter with her close friends and family.
Marian was born in East Windsor, but spent most of her life in Enfield. She was a graduate of Enfield High School's Class of 1973. She made many friends during her years while working at St. Joseph's Residence and Railroad Salvage, but her favorite job was being a loving mother to her daughter, Ann. Marian set the standard high on how to be a great mother, sacrificing so much of herself to make sure her daughter had a better life. Marian spent her last years residing with the East Windsor Housing Authority with her husband, Butch. She made many friends there that she considered to be extended family. Her fondest memories included movie night with the ladies and holiday events in the Great Hall.
Marian was selfless and always took care of others before herself. She was so very loving to her family and close friends; she loved everyone unconditionally. She would always make sure to mail letters for a multitude of holidays and occasions. She always made sure to be the first to send out celebratory texts for everyone's birthday. When Marian was excited you would know as she'd send you a super long text about it. Her happiness would radiate to everyone close to her. These thoughtful gestures will be greatly missed.
Marian leaves behind her husband David "Butch" Willis, her daughter Ann Chambers and son-in-law Adam Chambers, her sisters Lynda, Shirley, and Phyllis, her brothers Paul, Frederick, and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends all whom she loved dearly. Marian was predeceased by her mother and father, Alma and Ernest Sr., and by two of her brothers, William and Ernest Jr.
Her family will hold a private memorial service in her honor at a later date.
