Leona Charette Bard, 93, of Broad Brook passed away peacefully at Evergreen Health Care Center in Stafford Springs on April 7, 2021. She was born September 22, 1927 in Fort Kent Maine to Henry and Julie (DuFour) Charette. She lived in Broad Brook for 31 years. She and her husband both served as Eucharistic Ministers at St. Catherine Church where they were faithful parishioners. Leona is survived by her three sons; Leland Bard and his husband Will McElhinny of Portland, Oregon, Gary Bard of Playa Del Carmen, Mexico and Brian Bard and his wife Kim of Stafford Springs; two granddaughters; Heather Bard of Manchester and Heidi Bard of Stafford Springs; two great-granddaughters, Ivy Lynn Bard and Isys Alicia Bard of Stafford Springs. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Roland and 16 brothers and sisters. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 10:30 at St. Philips Church, 150 South Main st, East Windsor, CT 06088. Burial will be held privately.
