James L Dwire, age 56, of Ellington, CT passed away peacefully on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford,CT. He was born September 29, 1964, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford to Leon and Barbara (Whitman) Dwire. Jim is a graduate of Tolland High School. He married Nancy (Hoffman) Dwire on October 14th, 1989. He worked in the Financial Services field for over 30 years. He has been employed with MassMutual for many years as a Pension Resource Manager. Jim truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; his love for his family, classic cars, pets, and sports. His favorite teams were the Boston Red Sox and the New York Giants. Jim had the kindest heart and was always there for anyone who needed him. Jim was predeceased by his father Leon and brother Ronnie. He is survived by his wife Nancy; son Kevin; daughter Emily; mother Barbara; sisters Lynn and Leanne; and a brother Robert; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He adored his dog Bella, and cats Mookie and Luna. Family, friends, and others whose lives Jim touched are invited to the Burke Fortin Funeral Home on 76 Prospect Street in Vernon, CT on Thursday. May 6th from 4 to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial to take place at Blessed Sacrament Parish - St. Bernard’s Church on Friday May 7th at 11 AM. Burial to follow in Saint Bernards Cemetery.
