Obituary for Jean Litke

Jean F.(Anderson) Litke, 91, of Bloomfield, loving wife for 59 years to the late Bruce W. Litke, died on May 26, 2021. Jean was born in Hartford, grew up in Newington, and made a home with Bruce in Bloomfield where she lived happily for 61 years.
Jean and Bruce were true soul mates, sharing a passion for golf, boating, and camping—though Jean’s love of the outdoors never overshadowed her glamorous social presence and flair for fashion. Her primary passions were her children and grandchildren; some of her happiest moments were spent cheering them on at sporting events, challenging them to endless games of gin rummy, and gathering with them for holidays and summer barbecues.
Jean is survived by her 4 sons, Steven and Patricia(McMahon) of Windsor, Paul and Marcia(Grossi) of Sarasota, Florida(formerly of Simsbury), David of Bloomfield, and Eric and Mary(O'Connor) of Wethersfield. The lights of her life were her 7 grandchildren: Cara Sullivan, her husband Michael and daughters Reeve and Vaughn, of Chicago, Derek Litke, his wife Laura, and daughters Madison and Elena of Windsor, Joseph Litke, his wife Rachel and daughter Delaney of Simsbury, Jordan Litke, and her fiance, Erik Gauthier of Boston , Ryan Litke, his wife Megan and their children Jackson and Blake of Old Lyme, Kayla Litke of Wethersfield, and Emily Litke of Wethersfield.
Jean is also survived by her beloved nephews and their wives and families: Bill and Sally Kerestes of Rome, Georgia, and Bruce and Janie Kerestes of Coral Gables, Florida.
Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Celeste and Luida for their loving and compassionate care.
