Obituary for Rudolph A. Kirch

Rudolph A. Kirch, 82 of Stafford Springs, beloved husband of the late Geraldine Kirch, died in the company of family on Friday, July 2, 2021. He was born October 4, 1938 in Rockville, the son of the late Henry and Anna Kirch. He started his career in electronics in the United States Navy - Aviation Corps. Subsequently, he worked for a number of companies selling, building and servicing industrial analytical units including X-ray diffraction machines. Eventually, he and three partners founded DEXCO, Inc. in 1985 and the company continues to thrive. He "traveled the world" and enjoyed saying, "Given a sufficient amount of time, I can fix anything", and he could! Rudy enjoyed beekeeping, painting, skiing, motorcycle touring, woodworking, photography, swimming, backyard birding, good food, the company of friends, and caring for his charismatic cats Sophie and Snowy among many other activities. He was proud of his contributions and involvement in various organizations especially as a Connecticut Auxiliary State Trooper, an officer of the Lions Club, and member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his daughter Susan Kirch and her husband Moshe Sadofsky of The Bronx, NY, his sisters Marge Lavoie and Anna Hyde of Vernon and Ellington, CT respectively, and his brother Henry Kirch of Manchester, CT. In addition, he leaves behind several nieces and nephews (Cheryl, Greg, Mark, Justin, Lynn, Laurie, Laina, Wayne, Wendy, Bobby and Jason) and many dear friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 9, 2021 at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville, CT. A Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
