Obituary for Richard J. Suchecki

Richard J. Suchecki, husband of the late Meredith Guzman Suchecki of Ellington passed away on January 30.

Born in Ellington to the late Adam and Helen Pianka Suchecki; the family moved to Rockville and Richard attended local schools and Howell Cheney Tech.

He was employed by Mitchell Farms, Lapoints, Herman Motors, Clydes, and Bolles. Richard served in the Army and was stationed in Germany.

Richard was predeceased by his siblings: Edward (Ann) Suchecki, Lottie (Edward) Fuller, Dorothy (Bradford) Wadsworth, Irene (Stephen Sr.) Mantlik, John Moriarty and his mother-in-law Dorothy Guzman.

He enjoyed gardening and grew large, sweet purple topped turnips which he shared with everyone. Richard enjoyed auctions, flea markets, book sales, old tools, and old farm equipment. Richard was good at fixing anything and passed that skill to his son Jason.

Richard leaves behind his beloved family: his son Jason, his daughter-in-law Keri (Godek), his grandchildren Rachel, Samuel and Juliet, his sister Shirley Moriarty and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 10-11 am, Mon., Feb. 7 at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect Street, Rockville.
