Obituary for Josefina O. Kowalski

Josefina O. Kowalski, 82, of Broad Brook, CT, beloved wife of Edward Kowalski passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 5, 1939 in Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Narisco and Julia Martinez. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary for many years and was a founding member of the Virgin of the Well in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico. She was a woman of many talents which included painting, singing, flamingo dancing, cooking, sewing, baking and ceramics. Besides her loving husband, Edward, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa Firriolo of FL; her two sisters, Carmen Joy and her husband Richard and Rachel Morales all of FL; her grandchildren, Jackie, Jeremy, Joel, Jennifer, Melanie, John and Peter; and her great granddaughter, Skye. She also leaves Edward's children, Edward Kowalski III and his wife Angela of NY, Michael Kowalski and his wife Lynn of FL, Michelle Brook and her husband Larry of ME, Suzette Sault and her husband James Space of Rockville, CT, Chris Kowalski and his wife Patty, and Shaun Kowalski all of ME. She was predeceased by her two sons, Anthony and Peter John Orona; her sister, Lucia Martinez and brother, Narisco Martinez Gonzalez. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville, CT. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at St. Luke Church, 141 Maple St., Ellington, CT. Burial will follow at Ellington Center Cemetery.
