Obituary for David Guerin

David Guerin, 66, of Milford passed away on Monday May 23, 2022.

He was born October 25, 1955 in Dothan, Alabama to the late Dorothy (Chauvin) and James Guerin. The family moved to Milford in 1963, where David lived for the next 58 years.

After graduating from Milford High School in 1973 he worked as a pressman at local printing companies and as a skilled machinist at Schick Manufacturing.

David could readily converse on many topics, but most enthusiastically about sports, from his special love of the Kentucky Derby to being a loyal fan of the Detroit Tigers and New England Patriots. His biggest passion, though, was for University of Alabama football Crimson Tide; “Roll Tide” was his fall refrain.

David inherited his parents’ wry senses of humor and never lost that sense of humor, no matter what challenges he faced. He had the ability to laugh at his own foibles. We will miss him and the many colorful letters he wrote, taking us along on the journey of his too-short life.

David is survived by his sisters Phyllis and brother-in-law Ed Ertel of Tolland and Penny Guerin of Storrs, his brother James and sister-in-law Valerie (DaCosta) Guerin of Punta Gorda, Florida and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Natalie Guerin.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
