Obituary for Richard A. Millard
Richard A. Millard Sr., 72 of Ashford and husband of Midge Farr went to eternal rest on Sat., July 2, 2022 surrounded by his family at Manchester Hospital. He was born Nov. 25, 1949 to the late Percy W. and Grace (Rawley) Millard. He was predeceased by his first wife of 39 years, Gloria T. (Scirenski) Millard.
Rick was a retired Correctional Officer from The Rhode Island Dept. of Corrections, Maximum Security in Cranston, RI. He loved playing Doo-Wop music as Rick’s Boppin’ Oldies. He instilled a strong work ethic in his children and worked hard to provide his family with fun adventures and vacation experiences all across the country. He loved all animals, but especially his dogs.
Besides his wife, Midge, he is survived by his loving children, Lisa G. Dandeneau and her husband, Chris, Richard A. Millard Jr. and his wife, Linda, and the late Scott J. Millard; and his grandchildren Kayley, C.J., Lincoln, Sean and Maia. He is the brother of, Alfred and Robert Millard and the late, Barbara Massey, Marjori Tassoni, Percy “Tommy” Millard, Walter Millard, Elaine Cimino, Ronald Millard, Alton “Red” Millard, Grace (Millard) Lyons and Stephen Millard; and step-father to Michelle Gosselin and the late, Michael Anthony Farr; He is also survived by his step-grandchildren, Riva, Lianne, Mara. He is also the uncle to many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Sat., July 30, 2022 at St. Philip-Apostle Church, 64 Pompey Hollow Rd. Ashford, CT. Burial will follow at St. Philip-Apostle Cemetery. There will also be a Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m., Mon., August 1, 2022 at Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd., Providence, RI 02906. Burial immediately following.
