John J. Sobieski Jr., 91, of Tolland, beloved husband of the late Margot (Hoock) Sobieski, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022. He was born October 17, 1930 in Webster, MA, son of John and Eva (Talbot) Sobieski. John served in the U.S. Army from 1948-1952 and was a Korean War Veteran. Before and after his service John worked for The Southbridge Evening News. Later he worked as a typesetter for the Hartford Times until they closed in 1976. He then worked at Ace Printery and later for The Town of Vernon.

John was a kind man with a quick wit; a man of strength, resilience and practicality. He enjoyed reading, travel, gardening and sports. He is survived by his sweetheart of over ten years, Janet Hubbard, four brothers: Richard, Joseph, Peter and William and three sisters Rita Cardenali, Pauline and Mary Jane Sobieski, and his dear friends, Reeni and Greg Vinci. He was predeceased by his brother Anthony.

A graveside service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at St. Joseph Columbarium in Webster. MA.
