Obituary for Philip M. "Skip" Buckley

Philip “Skip” M. Buckley, Jr., 79 of Tolland and loving husband of Barbara (Filip) Buckley, passed away Sun., Sept. 11, 2022 at Hartford Hospital. He passed with his family by his side. He was born Feb. 17, 1943 to the late, Philip and Margaret (Fogerty) Buckley. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Rockville. He retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as an inspector after 38 years. He was a Veteran and served in the U.S. Army. Skip had many hobbies which were fishing, woodworking, trips to the Cape, and fixing many things that needed repair. He also had a love for country western music. His biggest enjoyments were attending his granddaughter's dance recitals and both of his grandson's baseball, soccer, basketball, and football games. He was a member of two woodcarving groups. The Ellington Cut-Ups Carving Club and The Rockville fish and game carving group. He also was a member of the Tolland Senior Center. Besides his loving wife, Barbara, he leaves behind his son, Michael Buckley of Bethel; his daughter and son-in-law; Nancy and Marc Dobrowolski; his grandchildren, Meagan, Patrick and Conor of Ellington; his sister Margaret “Peggy” Reid of Tolland. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Hartford Hospital and especially the Conklin floor for all the wonderful care they gave Philip. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 5-7 p.m., Thurs, Sept 15, 2022 at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect Street, Rockville, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Fri., Sept. 16, 2022 at St. Joseph Church, 33 West St., Rockville, CT (Please meet at church.) Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Rockville.
