Obituary for Marilyn E. Fallon

Marilyn (Sexton) Fallon age 66, of Ellington, CT passed away on Oct. 19, 2022 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. She was born on December 29, 1955 in Springfield, MA to the late Eric Sexton and Rita (Pond) Sexton. She was a graduate of Holyoke High School.

In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her husband of 38 years Gil Fallon. She was also predeceased by her brother Donald Sexton.

Marilyn is mourned by her loving mother, Rita Sexton of Chicopee, MA and her beloved children Jennifer Spulick of Tolland, CT, Cassandra Hence and her husband Kyle of Southington, CT, James Parsons-Fallon of Tolland, CT, Patrick Fallon of Windsor Locks, CT and step-son, Justin Fallon of Montauk, NY.

Marilyn was the proud Grandmother to Nate, Andrew, Hannah, Noah and Oli. She adored them all and she loved spending quality time building memories.

Marilyn will be greatly missed by her siblings. Her "only" sister Erica Leahy and her brothers Eric and his wife Mary, Gary and his wife Kathy, Everett and his partner Amy, Glen and his wife Tracie, Sean and his wife, Jessica. She leaves numerous nephews and nieces.

For over 20 years Marilyn was employed by the Tolland, CT School system as Para-Professional. She spent most of her career at Birch Grove Elementary school where she was known as a gifted and loving educator. She thoroughly enjoyed watching young students thrive as they learned to read and spell words. She had a keen skill set which involved songs, trivia games and music. She was very popular in the lunch room in entertaining "her kids."

Marilyn is sorely missed by her many friends. She enjoyed game nights, cooking, trips to the beach and traveling. She was always up for an adventure. To know Marilyn was to love her.

Relatives and friends are welcome to gather on Friday November 4th for a visitation and Memorial service from 3:30-5:30 at Tolland Memorial Funeral Home located at 375 Merrow Road Tolland, CT. A service will be held from 5:30 to 6:30.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to may honor Marilyn's love of reading to children by donating a children’s book to Birch Grove Elementary School.
